Regular Payments from your Card Account
If you authorise regular payments on your account you must ensure you keep relevant correspondence and details about the payments. A regular payment is where you provide a merchant with your card number and authorise them to regularly charge you for bills such as phone, internet supplier, insurance premiums or other. If your card number changes for any reason, you will need to let the merchant know your new card number.
Visa Chargeback
If a transaction was made on your account on a Visa Debit card that was not authorised, you may have a chargeback right. This does not apply for eftpos transactions where ‘Cheque’ or ‘Savings’ was selected. It’s important that you notify GMCU immediately when you become aware of an unauthorised transaction on your account. Visa will only accept a chargeback if it is lodged within timeframes set in the scheme rules.
It’s important that we have your correct mobile number on file. If we don’t have your correct number, the transaction will not proceed. If you need to update your contact details, please update your details via Internet Banking, or you can call or visit your local branch.
